Feature Friday: Cape 27

By Unknown | At 4:00 AM | Label : , , , | 0 Comments

Today I am featuring the fresh and bright home of Jessie from the blog Cape 27.  If you have been following my blog for awhile you may remember her original home tour on my blog here. I'm so excited that she is back with a new and improved home tour! Here is what she says she loves most about here home.

When we choose pieces for our home we try to steer clear of anything "style" specific. I could say that I like classic pieces with rustic, industrial, and vintage mixed in, but really it's just anything that feels right at the time. My heart definitely has to be in it. So as far as what I love about our home, it's knowing that each and every piece represents us, and what we're drawn towards, not just decor that fits into a certain "style". I love that everything isn't necessarily meant to go together!

Enjoy!

Where to Put Small Lamps

By Unknown | At 4:00 AM | Label : , , | 0 Comments
My friend Chelsea of Yours Truly recently approached me the chance to participate in a "white box challenge" as a part of her new online home accessory & furnishings store, Joy & Revelry.

She picked an item from her shop and sent it to three bloggers with the challenge of incorporating the item into their homes. The trick was that none of us knew what the item would be!

I was ecstatic when a pair of tiny lamps showed up on my doorstep.

This set of Katie Mini Ball lamps is beautiful. I knew I could find a way to incorporate them into my home but where! I played around with them in a few different places but the small scale just didn't fit any of my usual places.

Finally I decided that they needed to be on teeny tiny tables! I am slowly working on transforming my office into an office/guest room. These lamps are perfect on these small scale tables I picked up at Target.

Our loveseat is a sleeper sofa and the tables act as nightstands when we have guests over.

I added some of my design books on the table to prop up the lamps and give them more substance. I love how they look like pretty jeweled accessories on my tables.  My $50 clearance Target tables look so much more expensive with these pretty lamps on top of them.

Utah Valley Parade of Homes - A Feast for the Eyes

By Unknown | At 4:00 AM | Label : , , , , , , | 0 Comments
Check out past posts about the Salt Lake Parade of Homes herehere, here and here

Are you guys ready for this visual feast! I will warn you this post is long and it will probably take forever to load but it is worth it!

Just in case you don't make it though the whole thing I am going to give you the best stuff first. This year my favorite house in the Utah Valley Parade of Homes, by far, was designed by Caitlin Creer & Alice Lane Home Collection and built by Millhaven Homes. This is a dream combo. Caitlin Creer is a good friend of mine plus an incredible talent and Alice Lane is so near and dear to my heart. The following pictures were photographed by the incredibly talented and artistic Hiya Papaya Photography. You must check out their blog for even more interior goodness.

Get ready to drool...

Amazing no? Everything else sort of seemed to pale in comparison but, as usual, I loved both of the Ivory Homes

You can always count on an amazing Schumacher duvet cover.

This next home was done by Osmond Design

This next one was designed by Four Chairs Furniture.

I only had one day to see the Parade so I missed  a lot of houses! Hopefully I'll make it to more homes for the Salt Lake Parade of homes this year.
